Former Lady Gaga Collaborator Wendy Starland Files Lawsuit Against Gaga's Ex

Starland claims she was promised compensation for introducing Gaga to ex-boyfriend and producer Rob Fusari.

Lady Gaga and her ex-boyfriend, Rob Fusari, may have agreed to drop the lawsuits they filed against each other, but that doesn't mean the battle over the origins of the superstar vocalist has ended.

Yet another major player in the early evolution of Gaga, longtime friend and singer Wendy Starland, has come forward to claim her part in Gaga's success, courtesy of yet another major lawsuit. According to Forbes, Starland, who introduced Gaga (born Stefani Germanotta) to Fusari in the first place, filed suit on Friday in Newark Federal Court claiming that Fusari cut a deal with her in 2005 in which he promised her a piece of the action if she found him a female singer he could work with.

Starland claims in the suit that Fusari asked her to find a "unique female singer, under the age of 25, who could be the female equivalent of the lead singer of the band the Strokes." The producer allegedly promised Starland that if she "could find and introduce him to such a singer, they would work together to develop the singer and share equally in any revenues earned as a result."

Starland claims she agreed to that deal and a short time later she did just that, introducing Fusari to Gaga after she saw the Stefani Germanotta Band perform at the Cutting Room in New York in March 2006. Though they reportedly had an oral agreement to collaborate on songs and develop Gaga together, Starland claims she was cut out of the deal in May 2006 when Fusari entered into an agreement to pursue a record contract for Gaga.

Once Gaga signed a record deal with a major label, Starland claims in the suit that she asked Fusari again if he would share any revenue he received from his deal with Gaga and he agreed to, but then never did.

To date, Starland says she hasn't gotten any compensation from Fusari for helping to discover Gaga. She is suing the producer and his company for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, unjust enrichment and quantum meruit (a legal term that translates into "as much as he has deserved," and refers to a situation in which someone agrees to work for another for unspecified payment but expects to be compensated based on what they deserve for their labors).

Radar Online reported that Starland is demanding a jury trial in the case and seeking "an amount in excess of $75,000" including "one half of Fusari's profits, including future profits."

According to Forbes, Fusari has not yet commented on the Starland lawsuit. Earlier this month Gaga and Fusari agreed to drop their respective lawsuits. Fusari had claimed in a $30.5 million suit that he had a major hand in creating Gaga's persona and crafting her musical personality way back in 2006, co-writing such hits as "Paparazzi" and "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" on Gaga's multiplatinum debut, The Fame. Gaga then filed a countersuit, saying the agreement she'd signed with Fusari was "unlawful." It's unknown whether the two reached a monetary agreement to end the dueling lawsuits.

Eva Longoria Spends An Afternoon Shopping With A Friend

Loving that we are seeing more knee high boots these days. I am SO READY for the Fall!! Here's Eva Longoria chowing down on some spaghetti with a friend at an outdoor cafe yesterday afternoon. You have to wonder how many people stopped and tried to talk to her. She's just so accessible in that seat. Once the bill was paid the girls then headed into a few boutique stores to shop. Recently, Eva said that Tony Parker was her priority.
"We do a whole schedule, we look at our calendars and priorities our lives first and then everything else just falls into place. He has been in Los Angeles for two months training, so we have been getting to fall asleep together every night, which is really nice. But when he goes back to San Antonio, we will start the whole flying thing again." "But we have been in heaven, we have had a nice summer and a great vacation. We have had a great time together. We make each other the priority. It is a lot of work but if it's worth it, it's worth it," she said.

CANDIDS: Rihanna Makes Promo Rounds Overseas + Janet Jackson & Her Beau Wissam Lunch In Paris

Rihanna was spotted overseas in London promoting her upcoming album while Janet Jackson and her beau relished over a romantic lunch at a restaurant in Paris.

Pics when you read on…

RiRi is making her rounds overseas promoting her new album “Loud.” She was spotted leaving the BBC Radio 1 studios in an interesting and colorful fit. She seems to be rockin' “loud” colors to match her “loud” hair nowadays:

And Rih changed clothes after making a quick stop by her hotel room:

Although she has the awful red hair, can't deny her body body is sick.

And if you're wondering what she chatted about with the BBC Radio folks, here's the audio. During the interview, she let her fans know her new Loud album is uniquely her:

"[Loud is] just the perfect Rihanna album. Every song is tailored to me. I wanted songs on there that were all Rihanna songs, that nobody else could do. I didn't want the generic pop record that Ke$ha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry could do."

Meanwhile, Janet and her man Wissam Al Mana were spotted in Paris after having a romantic lunch at Avenue Restaurant.

After lunch, they decided to do a little shopping at the Balmain boutique in Avenue Montaigne:

Love does make one glow doesn't it? Loving her laid back yet motorcycle chic look.

Steven Spielberg Advised 'Let Me In' Director

Legendary filmmaker suggested Matt Reeves listen to child actors.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Kodi Smit-McPhee in "Let Me In"
Photo: Overture Films

There is a moment in the new horror flick "Let Me In" when a local policeman goes in search of a young girl named Abby, who he believes is connected to a series of grisly murders. As he walks into her apartment, he steps on one of the toys that she and her friend Owen had been playing with moments before.

It's a small yet redolent moment: The cop has missed her for now, this young girl with a horrifying secret whom the audience has come to care about so deeply. It turns out the moment was neither part of the shooting script nor one of director Matt Reeves' ideas. It sprung from the mind of then-13-year-old Kodi Smit-McPhee, who plays Owen.

"I was like, 'That was a great idea,' " Reeves told MTV News recently. "And we did it. With kids, you have to be open to what they bring."

That's a lesson Reeves learned from none other than Steven Spielberg, who's directed child-actor-centric films like "ET," "Empire of the Sun" and "Hook." The directors were brought together by J.J. Abrams, who produced Reeves' "Cloverfield" and is working with Spielberg on "Super 8," an upcoming film shrouded in mystery.

"[Spielberg] had seen 'Cloverfield,' and he was very, very complimentary," Reeves said. "I asked J.J., 'Do you think Spielberg would talk to me ... about directing kids?' And he was like, 'Yeah, of course. I'll ask him.' I met with him, and I was like, 'Oh, this is cool.' "

Reeves remembers Spielberg coaching him: "He said, 'The thing about it is you have to let them bring themselves to it. When you go in a room, say, "OK, this is your room. Where would you go? What would you do?" Let them bring it. I'm telling you, that's where the gold is.'

"Because they actually are the ages of the characters, you're remembering what it was like to be 12," he continued. "They are 12. That was the big thing."

The result of this advice was an environment of open collaboration in which Smit-McPhee (who starred in "The Road" last year) and co-star Chloe Moretz (who plays Abby and made a name for herself in "Kick-Ass") were free to contribute ideas each day. Many of those ideas, like the toy one, made it into the final picture.

"Directing them was really playful, just learning to try and see through their eyes," Reeves said.

Check out everything we've got on "Let Me In."

Chris Brown's BET Awards MJ Tribute Was 'Spectacular,' Jermaine Jackson Says

'He deserves to perform, because it's healing for him,' Michael Jackson's brother tells 'Extra.'
By Gil Kaufman

Chris Brown wasn't the only one getting misty-eyed at Sunday night's BET Awards during his tribute to Michael Jackson. The King of Pop's older brother, Jermaine, told "Extra" that he was also overcome with emotion during the dance routine, in which Brown paid homage to some of MJ's most famous moves and then attempted to sing "Man in the Mirror" before being overcome with emotion and weeping onstage.

"To see [Chris'] performance, it was very emotional for me, because it was an acceptance from his fans from what has happened to him and also paying tribute to my brother," Jermaine said. "It was just a spectacular moment."

Fans and critics have been split on the performance, which some saw as the bursting of an emotional dam for the singer, making his first major public appearance since he pleaded guilty to felony assault in his assault of former girlfriend Rihanna last June. Others speculated that Brown may have manufactured the tears to gain sympathy from fans who abandoned him in the wake of the Rihanna attack.

Jermaine Jackson said he thought Brown — a longtime devotee of Michael's and, at one point, considered a modern heir to the R&B throne — had every right to pay homage to his brother. "He deserves to perform, because it's healing for him," Jermaine said. "How can he learn from his mistakes if you don't give him a chance? He needs that. I love Rihanna, and I'm not supporting what he did, but I support him [as a singer] 100 percent. ... I'm just very emotional just knowing what has happened. Chris Brown is a human being, and we all make mistakes. We can't condemn him for what has happened. We hope he has learned from it."

Brown hasn't made any public statements since the BET performance, but on Monday, he did tweet, "My fans are my world," a follow-up to a message earlier in the day when he wrote, "I Love you ... (ever single one of #teambreezy)."

What did you think of Chris Brown's emotional performance? Let us know in the comments.

New Led Zeppelin On The Way? Jason Bonham Hints At 'Jam' Sessions With Jimmy Page -- But Not Robert Plant

Drummer admits he doesn't know what will come of 'new material.'
By Chris Harris

Jason Bonham
Photo: Larry Marano/ Getty Images

On Friday morning, mere hours before he was due to take the stage with classic rockers Foreigner at Detroit's GM Renaissance Center, drummer Jason Bonham — the son of late Led Zeppelin kitman John Bonham — told Jim Johnson and Lynne Woodison of local rock station 94.7 WCSX that he'd be an ex-member of Foreigner as of September 1. But that's not the only thing he said.

Much to the delight of Led Zeppelin fans everywhere, Bonham revealed that he's been meeting up with Led Zep guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones in recent months and that they've been "trying to do some new material and writing."

It was the first time since Led Zeppelin announced they would re-form for a single performance (which happened late last year at London's O2 Arena, in honor of the late Ahmet Ertegün, who signed the band to Atlantic Records in 1969) that anyone connected to the band has confirmed publicly that new music could be on the horizon for the iconic rockers. While the bandmembers have stopped short of definitively ruling out such a reunion, singer Robert Plant insisted in the wake of last year's show that he intended to focus on promoting and touring behind his critically lauded album with bluegrass artist Alison Krauss, Raising Sand.

Not that Bonham knows what — if anything — will happen with the new material he's been working on with Page (who collaborated with pop singer Leona Lewis on an uneven version of Zep's "Whole Lotta Love" at the Olympic closing ceremonies in Beijing on Sunday night) and Jones. He said he just shows up and takes his seat behind the kit.

"I've been over [to England] a couple of times," Bonham said. "I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do ... some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there, I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it. Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It's my life. It's what I've dreamed about doing."

He said it's still too early to tell what will become of these "jam" sessions, but admitted that the "possibility of doing something is in the cards. I really felt it was in the cards from the moment we walked offstage at the O2." Bonham also explained that, before there could be a Led Zep LP, "lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out," but added that recording with Zep is "something I've always wanted to do."

Bonham noticeably didn't mention frontman Plant's name during the discussion. A spokesperson for Page's management had no comment on the matter, and a spokesperson for Jones' management could not be reached by press time.

Chris Brown's BET Awards Breakdown Divides Viewers

Some think Brown's Michael Jackson tribute was sincere, while others view it as a sympathy ploy.
By Gil Kaufman

Chris Brown performs at the 2010 BET Awards on Sunday
Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images

While Chris Brown's onstage breakdown during a Michael Jackson tribute at Sunday night's BET Awards likely left many viewers speechless, MTV News readers had plenty to say about the emotional tribute to the late King of Pop.

Many commenters weighed in on an MTV News story about the performance, during which Brown executed some spot-on Jackson choreography for "Remember the Time" and "Billie Jean" while modeling some of MJ's signature looks. He then cried and was unable to get out the lyrics to the moving "Man in the Mirror."

"He left his heart on that dance floor and when those tears dropped from his face, so did the audience around the world," Music4Ever wrote. "He truly gave that his all and showed Michael that he was his idol."

Kjabbamodern called Brown's performance "amazing" and said he was spot on. "When you watched the awards you truly felt the incredible spirit he had, and when he broke down, it was truly genuine. Anyone that cannot understand that and see his true spirit is seriously NOT human. [Brown] made a mistake. ... I hope people find it in their hearts to forgive this young man."

The performance was one of the most high profile for Brown since the singer pleaded guilty last summer in connection with his attack on former girlfriend Rihanna. Since then, he has struggled to get his career back on track, meeting with disappointing sales for his album, Graffiti, and recently being forced to cancel European dates when the conviction stopped him from obtaining a work visa in the U.K.

Not everyone was convinced of the emotional sincerity of Brown's teary display. "Publicity stunt ... so funny that most of these commenters don't even remember all the backlash MJ had to endure!!" Eddie wrote. "Where was the forgiveness then? So sad that a sick person like Chris can put on a show of 'tears' to a REAL MUSICIAN'S MUSIC to get sympathy. ... His tears were for what he lost, which I pray he will never get back!!!"

Insantity wasn't feeling it either, adding, "I guess you can beat the life out of women, as long as you 'cry' at a tribute show."

Rebel was less harsh about Brown's intentions, writing, "This young man has suffered ENOUGH. Just let him move on and remember that there is not one amongst us who has never made a mistake in their life."

The night included notable performances from Alicia Keys, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, T.I. and Diddy. But Shai182 said simply, "Chris Brown's performance was hands down the best performance of the night!!! He killed it!!!" And chickhappy23 opined, "MJ would have been proud & we know u'll hold true to your promise Chris."

MTV's readers weren't the only ones torn over the tribute from one of Jackson's most avowed young followers. The Los Angeles Times ran a poll of readers on its site, asking whether they bought Brown's performance. At press time, 39 percent said that "Chris was thinking only of Jackson and was choked up by his death," followed by 21 percent who countered, "Chris was 100% faking a breakdown to get sympathy." The rest of the vote was split between 12 percent who said, "Chris was 50% upset by Jackson's death and 50% over-acting to get sympathy," and 9 percent who thought, "Chris was 100% freaked out that he had a real singing gig again. It had nothing to do with Jackson or faking it."

Was Chris Brown's BET breakdown genuine? Continue the conversation in the comments.

Michael Jackson Doctors Won't Be Charged In Singer's Death

California state investigators will not file charges against seven other doctors who treated the late star.

Seven doctors who treated the late Michael Jackson will not be charged in the singer's death. According to The Associated Press California officials said Wednesday (July 28) that they will not file charges against the doctors who were under scrutiny as part of an investigation launched by the state's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement.

Jackson passed away in June 2009 after suffering cardiac arrest. His personal doctor Conrad Murray — who was not one of the seven doctors included in the investigation — has been charged in his death and pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter after allegedly giving the star the potent anesthetic propofol.

"I am very disappointed," said Brian Oxman, an attorney for Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson. "The misuse of medications by Michael Jackson in the last years of his life was excessive and to fail to bring that to the public eye is ignoring reality." Oxman is serving as Joe Jackson's lawyer in a wrongful death suit against Murray.

Bureau spokesperson Christine Gasparac told the AP that one of the doctors who was under investigation was referred to the California Medical Board for prescribing drugs to one of Jackson's aliases, however, a spokesperson for the board did not confirm the referral. A spokesperson for the Drug Enforcement Agency told the AP that it has also dropped its investigation into Jackson's doctors.

Murray lawyer Ed Chernoff has maintained that the doctor did not administer a fatal dose of propofol and has suggested that either Jackson gave himself the anesthetic or another person may have supplied the late star with the dose. However, an anesthesia expert has said the possibility of Jackson administering the drug himself is unlikely.

A preliminary hearing in the Jackson manslaughter case is slated for August and Murray faces a sentence of up to four years in jail.

Jay-Z, Eminem Joined By Kanye West, Beyonce, Others At Yankee Stadium

Drake, Chris Martin, Nicki Minaj also appear at first New York stop of Home and Home tour.

NEW YORK — A year ago, Jay-Z showed why he's music's Emperor of the Empire State with a historic charity concert at Madison Square Garden, which Jay called "the house that Hovie built." On Monday night, "the God MC" took his mastery of performance to the front stoop of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, Yankee Stadium. And because that's no setting in which to go small, he brought out special guests like Kanye West, Drake, Chris Martin, Swizz Beatz, Nicki Minaj and, of course, Beyoncé.

After kicking off in Detroit two weeks ago, Jay and Eminem's Home and Home concerts landed on the Jiggaman's soil for shows on Monday and Tuesday (September 14). This time, after J. Cole opened, Slim Shady shook the stadium in the second slot, with special guests the G-Unit and Dr. Dre. Then Jay took over with a bevy of surprises and a catalog of hard-line hits.

"Before I start this piece, let me say, rest in peace to the boss, George [Steinbrenner]," Hov began, freestyling a reference to the late Yankees owner after commencing his program with the "Dynasty Intro."

"By the time we sliding home/ I hope we playing in the dome," he continued rapping.

During "Run This Town," Jay asked, "Where you at, boy?" And out came 2010 VMA closer Kanye West in a red suit. The roar was thunderous for the Louis Vuitton Don, who also rocked a huge gold link chain.

They followed up with the first live performance of the "Power" remix — where all 50,000-plus people did the soulful "power clap" — and "Monster." There was no Rick Ross on the latter, but 'Ye and Hov brought out Nicki Minaj, who was showered with love from her hometown.

Hov said that since they were in New York, he couldn't let Kanye off the hook that easy. West told the audience he was going to "take them back." The Chicago-born icon then crushed the concert with "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and a follow-up haymaker of the stadium-friendly "Good Life."

"It's one of the most unbelievable feelings in the world, being from New York and being in Yankee stadium," Jay said about the night.

"That's how you feel, New York City?" Hov continued, in response to the crowd's overwhelming cheers. "New York City, is that how you feel tonight? I can't believe this sh--!"

Jay's next guest was Bronx native Swizz Beatz, who was also celebrating his birthday. What a present!

Further along in his set list, Jay rolled out his jaw-dropping verse from "Free Mason." Like in most of his shows, the Jiggaman constantly spoke to the crowd. "Just because you question religion doesn't mean you don't believe in God," he said after his rumor-admonishing verse. "Don't let anybody scare you into having their beliefs. Be a muthaf---in' renegade."

Out came Eminem for their classic colossal meeting of the minds. No matter how many times they perform "Renegade," it's still surreal to see the two biggest names in rap stand unified, side by side.

Memphis Bleek then came out for a parade of familiar Jay knockers, including "U Don't Know," "99 Problems" and "Big Pimpin'."

There was a tribute to hip-hop's gone-but-not-forgotten greats that included B.I.G., D12's Proof, Pimp C and Tupac Shakur. Monday was the 14th anniversary of Pac's tragic death.

Chris Martin from Coldplay came out to sing the hook on "Heart of the City." Martin was crisp and soulful on the mic. Jay kicked the graceful lines to "Most Kingz," and then Martin took the energy up a few levels with "Viva la Vida."

"I used to rule the world," the crowd sang. "Seas would rise/ When I gave the word/ Now in the morning I sleep alone/ Sweep the streets I used to own/ I used to roll the dice/ Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes."

Hov then told his DJ to throw on any song, and out came Drake for "Miss Me."

"Tellllllll me/ What's really going / Drizzy back up in this bitch/ What's happenin!!!" Drake came on rapping. The approval for the 23-year-old was vibrant.

"Say, 'Free Weezy!' " Drake commanded during Lil Wayne's verse. Jay and Drizzy then let the mics explode with "Light Up."

Not letting the audience catch their breath, Beyoncé came out for "Forever Young."

"One word, Beyoncé, make some noise," Jay said about his wife. "That girl baaad! That girl tough!"

After "Already Home" came "Empire State of Mind." No Alicia Keys, but Roc Nation artist Bridget Kelly was on her A-game with the vocals. Not that it mattered, because the NYC crowd drowned the song out.

"This is better than any Grammy. Better than any MTV award," Jay said about being able to rock his city.

He then went into overtime with a barrage of classics such as "Jigga My N---a" and "Izzo."

He told the fans he wasn't going anywhere and continued to keep the energy high with "Where I'm From" and "Dirt Off Your Shoulder." Most of the sold-out crowd stayed until the very end, which featured Jay doing the Linkin Park mash-up version of "Encore."

"This night was like a gift for me," said the man who seemingly has everything. "I hope I returned it tenfold."

Chris Brown's BET Awards Breakdown Divides Viewers

Some think Brown's Michael Jackson tribute was sincere, while others view it as a sympathy ploy.
By Gil Kaufman

Diddy, Trey Songz Applaud Chris Brown's Emotional BET Awards Performance

'He left his heart on the stage,' Songz says of singer's Michael Jackson tribute; host Queen Latifah and others also react.

Folks had nothing but love for Chris Brown, who fell apart during his tribute to Michael Jackson at the 10th annual BET Awards on Sunday night (June 27).

At the afterparty, hosted by the tag team of Diddy and "Hustle & Flow" actress Taraji P. Henson, everyone from a show producer to the cast of the soon-to-be-revived BET series "The Game," as well as some of the night's winners and presenters, had something to say about Brown's emotional performance of "Man in the Mirror," during which the singer fell to his knees crying, genuinely unable, it seemed, to sing the song.

"You know who stole my heart tonight?" Henson asked.

"Chris Brown!" answered Diddy, host Queen Latifah, BET personality Tigger and a group of others in near-unison.

"He was so vulnerable," Henson continued. "I love you, Chris!"

During the tribute, Brown channeled Michael as he danced to "Remember the Time," "Smooth Criminal" and "Billie Jean."

The winner in the Best Male R&B Artist category, Trey Songz, said, "Chris killed that. He left his heart on the stage. He gave genuine emotion. I was proud of him and I was happy for him for having that moment." Songz didn't mention Brown choking on the lyrics during the song: "He did that justice. Everybody's been waiting for that."

Brown may have been waiting for his turn to do a tribute to his idol Michael Jackson, but he also was happy to have an opportunity to speak to his fans later in the show.

"I let y'all down before, but I won't do it again," he said as he accepted the award for the AOL Fandemonium prize, which was presented by siblings Brandy and Ray J. "I promise." Fans voted online, giving Brown the win over Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz and Justin Bieber.

Beyonce Could Release New Single In Next Few Weeks

'Listening to New B record Dream wrote ... Y'all C in 3 weeks!' producer Los Da Mystro tweeted Wednesday.
By Jocelyn Vena

Fans are slowly but surely getting more and more details about Beyoncé's next album. And the latest word is that the singer could release her first single from the album within the next three weeks. While the name of the song is still unknown, it appears that Lady B is well on her way to releasing new music off her follow-up disc to 2008's I Am ... Sasha Fierce.

"Listening to New B record Dream wrote ... F---INg INSANE! WOw!! She About to Kill the game again! Had to Listen again!! Y'all C in 3 weeks!" producer Los Da Mystro, a frequent collaborator of The-Dream, who worked with Tricky Stewart on Beyoncé's hit "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," tweeted. "Thats what they sayn now.. But it is the music Business. could b sooner r lata."

MTV News hadn't received comment by Beyoncé's label by press time.

However, the producers and songwriters she's been working with on the album have been dropping hints about what fans might expect on Beyoncé's fourth studio album. So far Ne-Yo, Jim Jonsin and Sean Garrett have all opened up about penning tracks for the album. And with the tweet from Los Da Mystro, it's evident that she's once again working with The-Dream and Stewart.

B's last album spawned the hits "Single Ladies," "If I Were a Boy," her Gaga-collabo "Video Phone" and "Halo." And while it is unknown what direction this next album will take, Ne-Yo has pointed out that Beyoncé has an "agenda" all her own.

"She's an artist that knows exactly what she wants to do," he told MTV News. "She's going to give you directions [like], 'Here's where I'm going, so here's where I need you to be.' And, you know, I'm a person that follows direction well. [And she'll be like], 'So this is the sound, this is the vibe; make it happen.' And I write and she likes it or she doesn't. And in this case she did, and there you have it."

Since she killed off her alter-ego Sasha Fierce for her next album, this record will be all Beyoncé. Producer Jim Jonsin recently noted that while he wants to go even more '80s than the pair did on "Sweet Dreams," he's also looking to try out some other genres with the singer. "Even some sexy mid-tempos, see if she likes that and I'll try that too," Jonsin said.

Whatever the album ends up sounding like, Garrett promised that it won't be a rehash of previous material. He explained, "We're working on some really incredible music. We're going to stretch a little bit — take it to a whole new level, if Beyoncé can go to a whole new level. ... It's going to be her biggest album ever. We're going to take it to a whole other level."

Anderson Cooper Announces A Daytime Show

Perhaps to lessen the blow of the fact that this is Oprah's last season, Anderson Cooper has announced that he is getting into the daytime television game next fall with a new show, which he'll do in addition to "Anderson Cooper 360." He said in a statement, "Over the course of the past few years, I've had the opportunity to work on a number of daytime programs. The format is unique and you can really go in-depth on a wide range of fascinating and compelling stories. With this new program I hope to relay important information and relate to people and the audience in a completely different way." Kim Kardashian is Miss Popularity on Twitter

There's definitely something magnetic about her, so it comes as little surprise that Kim Kardashian has been named as the most popular celebrity tweeter around.

Industry analyst Experian Hitwise found that the E! reality star ranked 54th overall and 20th in the entertainment category - falling behind organizations and companies such as the BBC.

As for individuals, no one tops Miss Kardashian, as Hitwise tells, "Such has been the success of Kim Kardashian's Twitter feed, her website receives nearly as much traffic from Twitter as it does from Google."

Experian adds, "As the website comes to rely more on Twitter for its traffic, the number of visitors from Google dips in clear correlation. Now one in every five visits to Kim's homepage comes from Twitter."

Matt Mitrione talks football, family and Joey Beltran

INDIANAPOLIS -- Matt Mitrione is just getting started in his MMA career, but the heavyweight is already on a card in front of fans and friends in Indianapolis. Just a few days before his fight with Joey Beltran, Mitrione met with fans (and Cagewriter) at a Buffalo Wild Wings two blocks from Conseco Fieldhouse, the arena for UFC 119.

"I feel better than I've ever felt. Phenomenal," Mitrione said. "I think old man strength is starting to set in."

At 32, he is 2-0 in the UFC and in his MMA career. Mitrione was a castmember of the tenth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," where he and two other former football players learned about MMA from the Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

As a former football player, Mitrione is aware of some of the recent findings about football players and brain damage. Former Cincinnati Bengal Chris Henry died a strange death, and a University of Pennsylvania football player committed suicide. Both were later found to have chronic traumatic encephelopathy, a type of brain damage.

Mitrione said that after playing at Purdue University and for one year in the NFL, he still feels the effects from the repetitive hits of being a defensive tackle.

"I guarantee you I have brain damage. I don't think as clearly as I used to, and I'm not as quick-witted as I used to be. Sometimes, my words run together," he said. "My short-term memory isn't great. I don't get headaches, but I know that the damage from football is done."

The father of two boys (and another child due in November) and a huge fan of the sport said that he won't let his sons play football, but he would let them try MMA.

"I don't take a whole lot of damage as a fighter, but it happened in football."

Though he is fighting in his adopted hometown of Indianapolis, his wife will not be in attendance.

"When you're a fighter, you know that there is a possibility that you get your [profane] kicked. I don't mind that, but if my wife is there, she's going to get upset. She's going to hear people cheer and boo me, and she won't be able to change the channel. If I'm getting my [profane] kicked and she's there, I'm going to be more worried about her than focusing on the fight, and getting myself out of that situation."

To get ready for this fight, Mitrione continued to try to learn MMA, a sport he is new to but has so much talent in. He worked with Purdue assistant wrestling coach Tom Erickson and spent time at Roufus Sport. He asked the UFC for a fighter who will give him a challenge, and will fight Beltran on the televised undercard on Spike.

"Joey has good heart, and tries hard. I think he's got a good chin and good power, but it's so subjective. I think I've got great power and a great chin, too. But I'm in the best shape of my life, and I will be game for it."
